The 100 days crave!

16 years ago 0 1153 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Kylisa,

Keep all of those coping skills that you picked up at the beginning of your quit nearby, you never know when you will need them. As you can see, the 100 day craves are pretty normal and a lot of quitters experience them. Stay strong and come for support when you need.

You'll deal with those cravings one at a time, Lisa!   You're in the right mind-set now and there's no shaking that firm resolve...

I just got to 4 months and for the past week the craves have really been sneaking in on me, I also moved last weekend so that might be a part of it too. They aren't so bad that I can't fight them just seems to be quiet a few of them.

Tryagain, Glad to hear to talk this way! Several weeks ago you would have been asking us when it would end. You are starting to be in control of your craves. Good for you! You see? Listen to you now!! ;) Audrey My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/16/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 105 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,108 Amount Saved: $294 Life Gained: Days: 10 Hrs: 6 Mins: 8 Seconds: 29

I woke up this morning with the crave, right there, intact, as if I had never quit. But, I didn't have a smoking dream last night, so that's better. I'm approaching 100 days so know how you feel. One thing I have found is that intense concentration on something else will remove the crave. I no longer have craves when I'm doing a dog haircut for instance. They don't come when I'm painting or drawing. I've taken to keeping a drawinig pad and pencil handy to doodle something when a crave gets real bad. I'm not very good at drawing so it takes a lot of concentration. They will pass just keep that in mind. Even when it seems like it's just one long ugly crave, it will pass. Nomi1, Great job!! You trashed the cigarettes and saw that they only added to your problems. Good for you!!! Now just keep on keeping on with your quit. You didn't go through all of that misery and hard work only to turn back now. There is something to this 100 Day mark. I'm almost to the 70 Day mark but others have had quite a bit of trouble around Day 100. It will pass. The cravings and the depression both. It seems like right around Day 100, Old Nic really bares down hard trying to get people to fall off the ship. Don't let him get you. You'll hear that theme song from Jaws if you do. ;p Keep posting while you're going through this rough patch, okay? We're right here for you. You CAN get to that beach and it will get better. I don't know what happened this week; combination of work stress, depression because of weight gain I can't seem to stop...I just decided to hell with it, I'll go back to smoking a few cigarettes a day. Which I did, for less than 24 hours. This afternoon, climbing the steps to our attic office, I realized my heart was pounding. Stupid, stupid, stupid....how could I forget the yucky taste in my mouth and the clogged head and the sore lungs and the pounding pulserate? I went out and bought another box of 7mg patches to wear for a few days, threw the cigarettes in a dumpster and here I am again, penitent. I really, really don't want to fail after all this misery... Audrey, Yes. There are a lot of warnings but simply in your best interest. If you know about the potential pitfalls, they're less likely to catch you off guard. There is a beach in Stats Parade. I've bumped it to the top of the forums for you. Enjoy & congratulations! Danielle _____________________ The SSC Support Team

Well, on my 100th day I am getting all kinds of stark reminders to keep up my gaurd. From Jeanigirl's return after such a wonderful 200+ days quit (BTW Jeani you're gonna get it this time) to Mr. Ed's piece about the plateau (so similar to no man's land) to this post about the 100 day crave. Didn't someone say something about a beach? I don't know, in between the lines of all your wonderful congratulations, there sure are a lot of warning messages...danger will robinson :8o: My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/16/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 100 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,012 Amount Saved: $280 Life Gained: Days: 9 Hrs: 18 Mins: 52 Seconds: 56
