Hi blu3, Nictotine is a very strong Stimulant, it is atually stronger than coffee. And you should know that coffee is no good for a person who suffers with anxiety. So you could just imagine what smoking would do since it is worse than drinking coffee. I am in the process of trying to give up smokeing myself, because I notice it does make my anxiety worse epsecially when I've had to many. Ruby... :p

I quit smoking 6 years ago and have noticed a considerable change in my panic symptoms related with my heart. I loved to smoke and I miss it but it's a small sacrifice to ease some of the symptoms. Tell your friend to quit. It's a slow, painful and certain death. Nothing good comes from smoking - plain and simple.

Nicotine is a stimulant, I quit 2 years ago and I can tell a difference. Some people say smoking calms them down. I guess its all up to the individual.

My friend has pretty much the same panic disorder as me and he has picked up smokeing. Now can't smokeing when you have a panic / anxiety disorder simply make it worse?
