Hey Kat, it sounds like you are on the right track. Remember, in just a few days the nicotine is pretty much gone from your system and then it's really all psychological. Channel that anger - be angry at the addiction and refuse to let it control you anymore. You're just a bit behind me now... we can do this together. Hi Kat - Take the time to go back, and to dig deep and figure out why you keep going back and forth... I have a really tough question for you, and that is, is your desire to quit stronger than your desire to light up? If we can't answer that question with yes, we're not going to have a forever quit, because were not ready. If you don't change what you're doing, how you're feeling, and focus and ground your quit and your commitment to your quit, you will go up and down, back and forth, and nothing will change. Think about it, and let us know how we can support you! My best advice for you is to spend as much time as possible on the site -reading and reading, and reading and reading more... those who went before you took the time to share their journeys with you and with me. Allow those threads to guide you through the darkness and into the light. You will read about challenges, about what to do, and what not to do -- and you will also learn something very important --- learning how to build up your coping skills for the tough times is absolutely mandatory for it successful quit. Kat, You can certainly do it this time. I am sure I have failed more than you....but you wait and see. Those failures will become precious to you!! They all made your determination and commitment what it is now. AND..AND... we all know that is what is needed to succeed. You go girl!! ;p Mercy My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 74 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,496 Amount Saved: $330.78 Life Gained: Days: 9 Hrs: 16 Mins: 54 Seconds: 21

Hi Kat, Glad to have you aboard. You are so right NOPE is the word. I actually said the same thing today, I was angry that I ever took that first smoke and that I had to go through this at all. But I am going to take a positive spin on this and remember that I am doing myself good by quitting and this hell will not last forever!!! If we can be of any help you, please let us know. Everyone on here is so nice and all they want to do is help. So stay strong, come back here often and good luck. :):) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 35 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 891 Amount Saved: $175 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 18 Mins: 34 Seconds: 31

hey all, Well I have been wrestling with this demon of mine for over a year now. Over this past year I have been an off and on again smoker and have not abstained for more than a month at a time. I am just sick of going through withdrawls all of the time and want to detox and not start again soooo bad I can taste it. I always seem to loose sight of the goal and think that I can just have one...I can't!!!! I will never let cigs control my life again...I am done with this and will not put up with anymore of this b.s. I am actually angry at cigs and what they have done to my life....N.O.P.E. is the only way. here I go again and this time I know it is the last time. I'm back for good. kat My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/3/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 2 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 53 Amount Saved: $10 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 4 Mins: 15 Seconds: 42
