Hello Dan, You had to have been one of the SSC earliest settlers. I remember reading the phrase you used here: "one is too many and 1000 is never enough", a catchy phrase that speaks admirably to those who listen up and heed its virtue. It is a decade of smoke free living for you and yours, tremendous accomplishments, very, very well done. Have a wonderful New Year. Stickin to it

A massive well done for a massive quit!   I hope lots of new quitters will take on board what you say.  A great inspiration!

A little more than ten years ago, my wife and I used this web site to help us stop smoking.

I still remember the first day, week, month and year.  It really did get easier as time passed.

I have to admit, that after a year, I didn't "feel" like I needed to smoke anymore but, when I started, it seemed that milestone would never arrive.

Nine years after I reached that milestone, I have friends who tell me "I can't picture you as a smoker."

When I hear that, I laugh to myself and keep on thinking, one is too many and 1000 is never enough.

I haven't taken so much as a puff since I stopped smoking.  I even haven't had a craving in years, but I will never let down my guard.  I *still* use the tools I learned here.

To those of you who are just beginning the process, it can be done.  I went from two packs a day to zero and have stayed that way for a decade.

You can too.

 -Dan
