Very encouraging post Jim. I cannot remember the last time I visited this site. I checked because I forgot how long ago I quit. Just learned it was 10.5 years ago. Never miss it ever.
Thank all of you for providing such a wonderful support vehicle for those of us that chose to change our lives by quitting smoking.
Sorry I have been absent from the site for so long! It seems I am busier now in retirement than I was when I was working! I wanted to let you know I sent you an email!
I just wanted to drop by and say hi on my 9 year anniversary! Thanks to everyone who was here 9 years ago and all those who joined afterwards! You helped save my life! As it turned out, I developed an abdominal aortic aneurysm just above where the aorta branches out to the femoral arteries. Luckily, due to back pain a couple of years ago and a MRI, the doctors found the aneurysm and I had a stent placed in the artery. They told me that smokers are more prone to developing an aneurysm. Soooo... just another reason to quit!
To everyone beginning the quit journey, stick with it! If you first don't succeed, try again! Quitting may possibly save your life! I know things aren't the same here as it was 9 years ago, but the information is here, the posts are here that helped me all those years ago, too! And remember, if I can do it, you sure as hell can do it too!
